Dwayne Johnson recently shared his reaction after paparazzi leaked photos from the set of the live-action Moana film. In an interview with Extra, Johnson, who voices Maui in the Moana films, recalled how paparazzi managed to capture photos despite their efforts to maintain privacy on set.
“We shot outside, and when those pictures surfaced, I was like, ‘Shit, we got caught,’ because we were putting up, like, walls so there was no paparazzi,” Johnson said. He revealed that the paparazzi used boats to take the pictures.
Johnson’s initial reaction to the leaked photos was followed by a confession about the body suit he wore to achieve the muscular look of the Demigod. After the photos surfaced on social media, fans noticed his bulkier appearance. The 52-year-old actor confirmed during the interview that the muscular look was due to a custom-made body suit.
“That’s a suit that took a long time to put on,” Johnson explained. “So, I’m so happy you said, ‘You bulked up,’ because when you say, ‘You bulked up,’ that means you couldn’t tell.”
The live-action Moana film, directed by Thomas Kail, is scheduled to be released in 2026.
