John Krasinski has been named the 2024 Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
The announcement was made on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday. People magazine also shared the new cover photo on social media.
During the reveal, Stephen Colbert joked about not winning the title. Krasinski appeared on screen to comfort Colbert, saying, “It’s ok, you’re not the Sexiest Man Alive, but who cares? Who is? Except for me, apparently.”
Krasinski also starred in a funny ’80s-style infomercial video teaching Colbert how to be sexy. The video included a cameo from former Sexiest Man Alive, Chris Evans.
Krasinski is best known for playing Jim Halpert in “The Office” for nine seasons. He also directed and starred in the 2018 movie “A Quiet Place” with his wife, Emily Blunt, and produced its sequel in 2020.
He starred as Jack Ryan in the Prime Video series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” from 2018 to 2023. A movie based on the series was announced last month.
Krasinski joked that when he told Blunt about his new title, she laughed so much he couldn’t understand her.
Krasinski takes over the title from “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey, who was the 2023 Sexiest Man Alive.
