Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival are going on sale this week, and millions of fans are expected to compete for a chance to attend the event, which will run from June 25-29, 2025.
No headliners have been announced yet, but the demand is expected to be higher than ever because the festival will take a break in 2026.
Last year, all 210,000 tickets sold out in just 58 minutes as more than 2.5 million people tried to secure a place.
“There aren’t enough tickets for everybody,” organizer Emily Eavis told the BBC’s Sidetracked podcast earlier this year. “It’s one of the worst parts of the job [because] we can’t do anything about it. We definitely can’t do two weekends.
“But a lot of the time,” she added, “people who really, really want to come often get tickets through volunteering or competitions.”
So there’s always hope… But if you’re brave enough to tackle the online ticketing system, here are a few tips that might help improve your chances.
1) Check Your RegistrationTo prevent touting, anyone who wants to attend Glastonbury must be registered in advance. The registration window closed on Monday, November 11, so if you’re not already registered, it’s too late. For those registered, make sure your details are up to date. You’ll need the registration number and postcode for each person you’re buying a ticket for when sales begin.
2) Choose Between Coach or General EntryGlastonbury tickets come in two types – standard weekend tickets and coach weekend tickets. Weekend tickets allow you to arrive by train or car, though traffic can be a hassle. Coach tickets are more eco-friendly and increase your chances of success. However, you get your festival ticket on the coach itself, so there is no cheating on the system! Ticket and coach packages go on sale at 18:00 GMT on Thursday, November 14. General admission tickets go on sale at 09:00 on Sunday, November 17.
3) Team Up with Friends: You can buy up to six tickets once you’re at the booking stage if you have the registration details for each attendee. The more people try for tickets, the better the chances are, so coordinate with friends. Create a group chat and share all registration numbers and postcodes in a shared document to streamline the process.
4) Avoid Scam WebsitesGlastonbury tickets are sold exclusively at glastonbury.seetickets.com. Be wary of scam sites and only buy from the official source.
5) Log On early this year; there’s a new queueing system requiring you to log on in advance. When ticket sales start, you’ll be randomly assigned a place in the queue. People joining later are placed at the back, so punctuality is key. Set multiple alarms to ensure you’re awake and ready.
6) Stick to One DeviceUsing multiple devices and browser tabs can lead to errors and may get you kicked out of the queue. Stick to one device to avoid confusion and ensure a smoother process.
7) Familiarize yourself with the booking process. A limited number of people will be given access to the booking system at any time. You’ll first be held in a queue. Once through, you’ll need to enter registration numbers and postcodes for the lead booker and up to five others. Copy and paste these details to avoid errors. Check the summary page carefully because details cannot be changed later.
8) Have Your Payment Information Ready. This year, Glastonbury tickets cost £375.50 plus a £5 booking fee. At check-out, you’ll pay a £75 deposit, with the balance due in early April. Ensure you have enough money in your account and keep your card details ready. Enter them carefully to avoid mistakes that could freeze your registration details.
9) Check Your EmailOnce you’ve made the booking, check your email for confirmation, including the junk folder. If you don’t receive an email within three hours, contact See Tickets via their customer service portal.
10) Don’t DespairIf you don’t secure a ticket, there’s still hope. You can volunteer at the festival, typically working three eight-hour shifts in exchange for a ticket. In April, some returned, or unwanted tickets will be available for sale.
11) Speculate About the Line-up. This won’t help you get tickets, but it’s a fun part of the annual routine. While the headliners aren’t confirmed, rumours and speculations abound. Keep the excitement alive by guessing who might perform next year.
I hope these tips help, and best of luck in securing your Glastonbury tickets!
